My sister in law is a senior this year! Hannah is one of Alex’s 5 sisters. She lives in Michigan and is greatly missed out here in CA! She is an amazing young lady. Full of beautiful ideas and much brighter than I was at any point during highschool. She loves swimming so for the end of our shoot we headed to the beach. Happy almost Graduation Hannah!

Jessica and Jay were married March 21, 2009 at the Puddingstone Resort in San Dimas . The day was beautiful ! It was a rather unique day for me to be shooting because Jessica and Jay hired me to shoot only their portraits. Which worked out perfect for me with family events happening in the evening. Of course they decided to see each other before the ceremony and I set up the first glance for them at the Claremont Colleges.

Here is the amazing smile Jay shared with Jessica as they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.

I can’t begin to put into words how much fun I am having with family sessions! I love people! I love getting to know people, even if it is just for an hour or two. Meeting Maya and her husband Mike and their two handsome little boys, Kobe and Jordan was a true pleasure! Besides being a huge fan of adorable little boys, these two in particular are super lovable and funny and so easy to take pictures of.

I am so blessed to have once worked at the famous BJ’s restaurant .  Not that I would go back to being a food server, but, because of all the AMAZING people I have met and stayed friends with. So thanks to Amy whose pics you saw a few weeks back for sending Maya my way!

Here is one of the first photos I grabbed of Kobe, he is so animated and such a busy little boy. It was so entertaining to chase after him and get some great smiles.

sandrasalisburyimg_8479

Meet little Jordan who is the newest member of the family. He was just as entertaining as his big bro Kobe… he had the best expressions!

sandrasalisburyimg_8760

And I fell in love with these tiny toes.

sandrasalisburyimg_8644

See that little look! love it!

sandrasalisburyimg_8640

And a family of 4! this I believe is thier trademark “family” pose!

sandrasalisburyimg_8634-copy

what a cutie

sandrasalisburyimg_8527

So Maya and Mike are deffinantly creative. As Kobe was getting abit restless from all his super cool picture taking.. they gave him a distraction. He ended up looking for a Lion throughout the rest of the shoot! He held the attention of this little game very well! I was impressed. Just proves that sometimes being a parent requires a bit of training in master deception ;)

sandrasalisburyimg_8694

peeking over to find that silly Lion !

Love this mommy moment!

sandrasalisburyimg_8982

Mr. expression is back

sandrasalisburyimg_8874

Look at that face! I love my job! :)

sandrasalisburyimg_8860

As we were wrapping up, Kobe was still looking for that Lion, and looky looky here we found it! Well it was technically a dragon, but it could be a Lion too.

sandrasalisburyimg_9000

This is what I love about little boys! The sweet little peice of mommy they always have, wantign to bring her flowers and cuddle…

Thanks Maya for letting me spend a few moments with you. I had so much fun. Lets do it again!

Working with Will of Parris Studios is always so much fun. He always finds the coolest couples who are so easy going and full of life and of course in crazy crazy love! WE started at the same hotel where my sis Erin was getting ready for her wedding.. Those hallways were giving me flashbacks! Which brings me to a funny story. If you go check out Will’s blog you’ll see he has told on eof his own. Truth is, Grant was not being attacked by a piece of 70’s swimmer wall art, well he was but it wasnt unprovoked! Kyle was here just minding his own getting ready business and Mr. Parris had to pull this stunt you see below.. Thats when his brother-in-law, Grant, Jumpped in and gave the so called hip check.  The poor swimmer didnt know what was coming. You dont mess around with P.S. on a wedding day. I’m just glad the swimmer didnt go after Kyle.

“Kyle & Kirsty are legendary! Absolutely amazing people with such passionate hearts for change! Throw in the ridiculous good looks & awesome personality and it becomes the stuff of legends, fairy tales you tell your kids.” Will has versed them perfectly. It was an honor to get to know them and help document their day.

Starting with this beautiful dress:

and the Adorable flower girl dress waiting to be worn

sandrasalisburyimg_6801

Kirsty had her vows saved on her iPhone which one of her bridesmaids transfer her to actual paper for the ceremony. I thought it would have been cooler if she had pulled it out on the iPhone and read them staight from there. I mean her nails totally match and her hubby works for apple!!!

vows

sandrasalisburyimg_7028

This ceremony was the first time i actually cried… well cried alot. I was sniffley sniffy the whole time. The vows written by Kyle and Kirsty were so moving and entertaining. (promises to only fight naked) Love the humor and the creativity and the support you could feel from the entire group of friends and family they had with them.

And from behind the scenes. I wasnt shooting when the water hit… I beleive I was checking what I had already and I heard the gasps and this is what I saw! Love the faces and the laughter!

I can’t not share at least one of my newest little family member ! I had the honor of photographing her today. I won’t be able to do a complete post of her anytime soon but I had to share her with the world. Today is her 1-month birthday! I believe she is my 3rd cousin, but I am always losing track of how we are all related!

Here she is, the beautiful, Miss Rebecca Ann:

I have always taken pictures. This is something I didn’t ever have to remind myself to do or force my to remember. It’s funny when people ask me how long I have been a photographer because I guess one way I see it as the day I decided to start my business. The other side of the page is that I have neem one all along and just never gave myself a title. The difference is how being a ”photographer” has brought so much into my life! I have the opportunity to meet new people everyday I pick up my camera. This makes me so incredibly happy. I love people. I love learning about them and getting to know who they are. I love seeing the things that make them smile and sharing moments with them that happen all the time or sometimes once in a lifetime. Over the past 3 years my career as a phtotgrapher has helped to bring me closer to friends who have drifted from me. Many friends for many different reasons. We get married, we change jobs, we move, we lose numbers….. I have been so blessed to have this connection to people through photography that has pulled people back towards me! What a great way to not only explore mew relationships but to build on the ones I have already and in a new way learn about people in ways I didn’t before.

On that I want to share with you my amazing session with these 3 little ladies. My friend from long ago found  me and wanted a fun session for her 2 girls and her neice. The perfect location and these 3 little darlings made for some beautiful pictures. Here is the lite version of my fave shots.

img_0503

We met at Heritage Park in La Verne and it fell right into the all time fave shooting spot. Bonus being only 10 minutes from my  house:)

The girls wanted to play with the fruit form all the trees.. Why not get a rad picture or two right!!!! I love taking these pictures of cool little kids just being themselves and letting the camera follow them. If you are looking for a fun day of pictures and don’t know what to expect. Come in clothes you dont mind getting a bit dirty (you and the kids) Let them bring their favorite toy or blanket. Bring a lunhc if you think they’ll wnat it.. or we can even get lunch! I like to eat :) and plan to have fun with your kids and the dirt and their toys!

You should remember little Danica from one of my family sessions last Christmas. She is the youngest adorable child of my friends Katy and Mike. I had the honor of being at her 1st birthday party to capture her sweet little face. Everyone she meets falls in love with her right away. She has these beautiful big eyes and an enchanting smile! And to top it all off she is a redhead! One of these days I might just have to slip her into my shootsac! Until then i can just keep taking cute pictures of her.
